Lego Star Wars The Clone Wars Release Date

Lego Star Wars: The Clone Wars was released on March 22, 2011, over a year after its February 8, 2010 announcement. This game is his fourth game to be released with a Lego Star Wars theme.

Today we're going back to Winter 2012 and taking a closer look at the LEGO Star Wars Set: The Clone Wars review. Previously, this set was sold for approximately $19.99, but in 2024 this Lego set will be sold for $102.99 in the United States. You can purchase it on Amazon.

The building instructions for this LEGO set consist of 35 pages. The rest of the set from this wave has no ads, just this weird cartoon animation of the set in action, which is kind of cool, but you can also see the rest of his 2012 wave here.

LR1K sonic cannon

The Sonic Cannon LR1K is also known as the Geonosian Sonic Cannon, also known as the Geonosian Defense Platform, and simply called the Geonosian Cannon by our Danish friends. This is just one of his two LEGO builds released in LEGO Star Wars history in 2003 with his 2-pack with the Geonosian Starfighter.

There's no better place to start looking at this canon than in Run of the Beast. And while this design isn't necessarily innovative, I have to say that the use of parts here is really nice, the sculpting is great, the Grebel details work really well, and the colors really pop.

Lego Star Wars The Clone Wars Geonosian Cannon

I think this is a great focal point for this build, and Lego did a great job putting it together, the rest of the canon doesn't quite live up to this level of detail, but it does the job. The feet here are large and functional. This is great as it shows Canon actually has a decent range of motion.

It's only attached with some technique pins, but the friction here is actually pretty good and it holds up relatively well. What I was pleasantly surprised by was the very effective design, and if there's a cannon, then of course Lego must have some kind of rocket firing capability built in. Of course, there's also the rocket launch feature, which is very consistent.

This set includes timThis set has an actuator on the back that allows you to run both at the same time or separately, and it's actually a very efficient mechanism that is very well integrated into this setup. On the back there are some additional details and a joystick 6 for Geonotion warriors to operate this cannon.

Even with her large wing pieces, there's plenty of room to fit the figure here. Once in place, everything works very well. All together. I'd be lying if I said this is the most exciting LEGO Star Wars set ever made, even though this build is just over 100 pieces without all the minifigure parts. Despite this, there's not much to complain about here, it still looks very nice. Very good and works very well. The minifigure selection here is really great

Lego Star Wars The Clone Wars Minifigures

1. Geonosian Warrior with Wings, Minifig number: SW0381

Geonosian Warrior with Wings

To look at the figures here first, it seems appropriate to start the minifigure section of this review with the Geonotion Warrior. This is the exact same figure released with Geonosian Starfighter 7959 in 2011, so obviously you heard the bell. He came out and he has wings and is a great looking vinyl.

All the prints and sculpted heads look great and I really like that there are some prints on the back. I really love the wing pieces on these, they add so much flair to these figures and they look great.

2. Geonosian Zombie with Wings, Minifig number: SW0382

Geonosian Zombie with Wings

It also makes the only appearance in Lego form of Geonotion Zombies, a very creepy addition to Star Wars. Canon when he appeared in the Clone Wars show, it's almost the same type of figure, just recolored in gray. The eyes look especially dead, the wings are also very decayed and very detailed when viewed from the back.

3. Barriss Offee, Minifig number: SW0379

Barriss Offee

And a weird, creepy and fun figure, the Clone Wars version of Barriss Offee, is included in this set. I much prefer the movie version that came with the Republic Swamp Speeder a few years before this set was released, but this version still looks pretty good despite the weird Clone Wars style. It's good, and I really like the short cape which I think is very unique to this figure

4. Clone Trooper Commander Gree, Minifig number: SW0380

Clone Trooper Commander Gree

Last but not least, this figure is Clone Trooper Commander Gree, who everyone knows for his iconic Revenge of the Sith look and stealth armor. A version of this Lego figure was available in several sets, but this set only had his Phase 1 armor, and there was also a parts pack that came with it, like a DK book or something, but basically Exclusive to this set.

I think he looks good, and he looks good in 2012. Some of his prints didn't match, and I don't think they lasted particularly well until they stabilized. I don't like the print of his face under the helmet at all, but there's a good print on the back and it's really cool to get more Clone Commander in Lego minifigure form.
